This 200-hour, Utility Line Clearance Arborist Training course will introduce you to best practices in Utility Vegetation Management This course is designed to enhance the understanding and application of safety, integrated vegetation management, tree identification, tree biology, proper pruning techniques, safe equipment operations, tree climbing techniques and customer service.

Trainees will receive certificates in:

  • Flagger
  • Electrical Hazard Awareness (EHAP) 
  • First Aid & CPR.

Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for this program, participants must:

  • Be 18 years or older with a clean driving record
  • Be committed to obtaining a Class A permit/license, or Class B with Air Brakes before program completion
  • Follow Butte College student conduct policies
  • Attend all sessions on time (two late arrivals or absences will result in disqualification)
  • Engage in class activities and study outside of scheduled hours
  • Complete required participant surveys (for program improvement and grant compliance; all data is secure and confidential)

A GED or high school diploma is not required to enroll.
