Beekeeping Workshop

This workshop promotes safe beekeeping practices, healthy hive management, and strategies to reduce colony losses while supporting local honey production. With recent research showing colony losses of up to 60% in California—and Butte County playing a key role in bee breeding and pollination—this training is timely and essential.
Offered in partnership with Olivarez Honey Bees, Glenn County employers, and the Honey Bee Discovery Center, the Honey Bee Biology & Beekeeping Workshop is a hands-on, three-part training for new and returning beekeepers. The 6-hour program, hosted by Butte College The Training Place at the Glenn Center, combines classroom learning and live field demonstrations to build foundational skills, improve hive health, and increase honey yield.
